House Springs, MO. It's 10 or 15 minutes south of Fenton.
I'd like to network some, see what everyone does. I hope to either become a designer or to start my own game developer here in STL, so I want to know what the community is like, speak with those who either have done the same or work in the industry.
I have so many ideas, but the question makes me wonder if it means aspects of an ideal game... so let's go with that. The ideal game, for me, has a story length of 6-15 hours long depending on genre, so long as the story is fleshed out, explained, and leaves enough clouded mystery to keep you coming back. The controls can be complex, but they need to be fluid and there shouldn't be any overly noticeable input lag. Bugs are normally fine as long as they are not game-breaking. Difficulty should be fair, but still difficult, slowly gaining as the game goes on, growing with your experience. Graphics should be eye catching, but by no means need to be "next-gen". The style and story of game dictates the graphics used.
I want to meet people in the industry, possibly find an internship with someone to help kick start a career. I don't have a job right now as I'm focusing on my final classes and have no connections whatsoever, so I need to network. Finding like-minded people who be wonderful too, people who are passionate about games.
Hello there, what can I say... I've been passionate about games since I was 10, gaming since I was 3 or 4. I'm 23 years old, and I will be graduating with a Masters of IT Management in October. My only real talent is my creative mind.
I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said, I can't wait til the next meeting.
