St. Louis Hadoop Users Group Meetup

NOTE: meeting location and date has changed for this month only. Our March 2015 meeting will be held at AMCOE (Unisys office) at 555 Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis. The 6th street entrance will be open, but the Washington Avenue entrance will be locked. To avoid a conflict with St. Patrick's Day, the meeting will be held on March 24th. We will return to our normal meeting schedule and location in April.

Our March meeting will feature two presentations:

Jason Eden, Learning Program Manager for Hortonworks, will provide an overview of some of the common use cases for Big Data, and will provide a high-level overview of the core components of Apache Hadoop and how they address the challenges.

Roger Hill, Big Data Architect for Unisys AMCOE, will provide a technical presentation on tailoring the Linux operating system to maximize Hadoop cluster performance.
