St Louis County Libertarians will be at the Greentree Festival in Kirkwood

The St Louis County Libertarians will be at the Greentree Festival in Kirkwood this weekend (http://www.kirkwoodmo.org/content/2025/greentree-festival.aspx). If you would like to help staff the booth for a two-three hour shift, please respond to this request.

 

 

From Eric Harris who is coordinating the event for us:

 

We will need booth coverage from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM Sat (including setup
before opening) and Sunday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (including takedown after
closing).

If we can do some of the setup on Friday afternoon before 3:00, that
would be great, provided we have the Saturday and Sunday shifts
covered. At the moment I don't know of anyone who can do that, but I'd
love to learn there is someone.

SHIFTS

The shifts are mostly 2 hours long. Because the festival does not
operate an even number of hours, one shift each day is 3 hours long:
from noon to 3:00 PM. The plan is to have 3 people then, so everyone
can take a lunch break and still keep the booth with two staffers.

If you can work a shift, great! If you can work two consecutive shifts,
even better! If you'd like to work two shifts with a break in the
middle, so you can visit the other booths and attractions, that'll also
work well.

Ideally we would have at least two people on each shift, but we need a
minimum of one at each, with two much preferred. If you can find
someone to carpool with, so much the better.

SETUP/TAKEDOWN

It's possible to do some or all the booth set up on Friday before 3 PM.
In fact, that would be preferable if volunteers are available, because
there is *no* vehicular access to the festival site walkways/roadways
between 3:00 PM Friday and 6:00 PM Sunday.

The current plan is for Sally and me to get there before 8:00 AM
Saturday to set up the canopy and table chairs and literature and OPH
materials. If canopy was already set up when we got there Saturday
morning, that would make things *much* easier.

A better plan: If two people are available to do some of the setup for
an hour before 3:00 PM Friday (say, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM), that would be
good. It'd be much easier to drive the canopy, tent, literature and
chairs to the site than lug them in on a hand truck.

BOOTH LOCATION AND PARKING

We are in space 61. It's the second of four booths just off Main Walk,
between the playground and the Book Sale at the Lion's Pavilion.

Game Booth Entrance: If you come in the entrance nearest the game
booths, you'll go past an Information Booth, a double row of game booths
on your right (on Amphitheater Walk), then the concession stand on your
left and a few booths on your right, then walk down Main Walk with some
booths on your left and a playground on your right. Just past the
playground you'll make a right, between a long row of booths and a short
one. Space 61 will be the second booth on the left.

First Aid Station Entrance: As you come in, the First Aid station will
be on your right, an Information Booth on your left. Go between them,
and veer right. Walk between a long double row of booths until you come
to a gap in the booths, on the left. Turn left, and Space 61 will be
the second booth on the left.

Parking: We have two parking passes, for the tennis court parking lot.
They hang on your vehicle's rearview mirror. Additional/Replacement
permits are available for $25. There is parking at the Meramec
Community College parking lot, and shuttle busses run from 10:00 AM to
the end of the festival Saturday and Sunday.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is the most important information. There's more, which I will scan
and send as e-mail attachments, for the benefit of volunteers and
potential volunteers. The Kirkwood Parks and Recreation Department
number is [masked], if you have a question that the attachments
don't answer.
