Stacki Intro Meeting

Details
Our first meetup is set! In this session, Anoop Rajendra will demo Stacki live and present an overview of the tool for the newbies. He will also discuss how the Hadoop team at PayPal and others use Stacki today. And of course, food and drinks will be served.:)
Stacki (http://www.stacki.com/) is an open source CentOS/RHEL bare metal provisioning tool that can take your servers from bare hardware (or virtual hardware) to working Linux, ready to install applications. There are zero prerequisites for taking systems from bare metal to a ping and a prompt. This includes parallel installation of Red Hat Enterprise or any of its derivatives and configuration of things such as:
-DNS
-DHCP, TFTP, PXE
-Parallel Execution Shell
-Cluster Networking
-Multiple Distributions
-Host Discovery
Host Assignment via Spreadsheet
-Partition Configuration
-Storage Controller Configuration
Stacki does this at scale, so deploying 1000+ servers is no more complex than deploying one. Once your servers are installed with Stacki, you can augment them with configuration tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt, CFEngine, Ansible, etc.
Anoop Rajendra is the Director of Enterprise Software Development at StackIQ and is one of the core developers of Stacki and Stacki Enterpise (the commercial version of Stacki). Before StackIQ, he worked as programmer in open-source Rocks Cluster Group at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) located on the campus of the University of California at San Diego (UCSD). He received his MS in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, where his main focus was on Clusters and Grid computing.
