Blazing Stone Pizza Stairhike in Montecito Heights

Details

Please join your fellow stairhikers as we do Walk #10 from Fleming's Secret Stairs book along with two additional stairs not in the book. A beautiful view of downtown LA is one of your rewards as we hike some staircases and one steep hill.

Walk is about 4.5 miles and will take about 1.5 hours.

This is a good walk for newcomers!.

Afterwards stay for pizza at the newly opened Blazing Stone Pizza. (http://blazingstonepizza.com/) I found out about Blazing Stone Pizza from The Eastsider (http://www.theeastsiderla.com/2015/11/chicken-chipotle-pizza-now-serving-in-el-sereno/), which interestingly enough calls the area El Sereno. You can pick from three kinds of crusts, three kinds of sauces, and a ton of toppings for your pizza. Prices for a 12in small ranges from $10-$12, and 18in large ranges from $15-$19. This is a great new pizza place.

Meeting Time: Please arrive by 6:30pm for introductions. Walk will start promptly at 6:45pm!

Parking: free street parking. Parking in the Dollar Tree lot is AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

Pace-Moderate pace. We will wait to regroup at the top of the steep hill.

You are responsible for keeping up with the pace of the group.

If you are unable to keep up with the group, you are on your own to get back to the starting point.

Reminders:

All walks should be treated like a workout!

No crashers- Please sign up for this event. Please do not just show up.

RSVP limits are set, because I don't want a huge group on these walks. So, if you RSVP only for yourself, don't bring a guest.

Please keep your RSVP updated and current. Repeated No Shows may lead to members being removed from the group.

There usually are no restrooms along these walks. Restrooms are usually only available at the starting point of the walks.

Always bring plenty of water.

Always wear running/tennis shoes. Open toed shoes are not a good idea for these stairs walks.

Any questions or concerns please email me, David.
