It's the 2-year anniversary of this group and these are my favorite trails in Los Angeles.
Start time: Try to arrive by 4:45pm. The hike will start at 5:00pm. There is parking available near the meeting location on Elysian Park Dr. and Chavez Ravine Rd. There is more parking available by Academy Rd and Stadium Way.
Description: Elysian Park is located just north of downtown Los Angeles; it is the oldest park in the city. Because of its location it offers some great views of the city and neighborhoods. The hike will include trails, fire roads, and streets at Elysian Park. The elevation gain will only be 250 feet, we will go up several steep uphills. The pace will be fast moderate, but we will take breaks to enjoy the views. The last mile of the hike will be after sunset so bring a flashlight. This will be a loop hike, it will end at the starting location. The hike will be over 6 miles and end within 3 hours.
REMINDERS:
• Bring plenty of water.
• Wear comfortable hiking/trail running shoes.
• Bring a flashlight.
