Paddlesports guidebook author Rob Casey is also the owner of Salmon Bay Paddle which offers all levels of SUP / Paddle Boarding lessons in the NW. This MeetUp group is an extension of Salmon Bay Paddle to offer a more affordable option for those seeking to try paddle boarding, take a refresher course, or get more water time to work on skills.
Stand up paddling or paddle boarding (aka SUP) is the fastest growing water sport in the country. The modern version of the sport began in Hawaii and in recent years has spread worldwide. You can SUP on lakes, saltwater, rivers, in surf, and in all weather conditions. Anyone can paddle a SUP! Good Balance is a myth - it's about being matched with the right sized board for your height and weight. You also don't have to be in top phsyical shape to learn, but it may help you get there. Don't wait until Hawaii to try - learn now so you can have more fun on your vacation!
Our Meet Ups are designed to teach you how to comfortably paddle in the Pacific Northwest all year. We focus on skill building which not only includes how to paddle, but where and how to do it safely as well.
If you can't find the course you're seeking or our schedule doesn't work with yours, Rob offers private and group lessons outside of Meet Up all year. Call to schedule a lesson. Salmon Bay Paddle also offers surf, river, racing and rough water classes.
