Join us for a weekly SUP race in Ballard!

First Race - Monday June 3rd.

The Courses: The race course will change weekly or depending on conditions. We'll do a water start along any of the following courses with the starting line across from the Elks Beach and boating channel (Magnolia side).

  • To hamburger buoy in Shilshole Bay. 1.5m RT.
  • To West Point Lighthouse mooring buoy. 2.3m RT.
  • To erractic glacier boulder below Discovery Park. 1.03m RT.
  • To West Point Lighthouse green buoy. 3.07m RT.
  • Up Salmon Bay against current to mooring buoy and back using outgoing currrent. 1.6m RT.

*All courses were chosen to stay clear of boating channels.

Who Can Attend? Anyone. Beginner to advanced. You should be comfortable with paddling a SUP on flat water. Inquire about lessons if new to SUP.

Required: PFD worn and leash. In cooler weather - wetsuit, drysuit, or similar clothing.

Fee: $5.00 per person. Pay online here or in person, (cash or check).

Weather: Races will go on in light to moderate wind and/or rain. We will cancel if the weather is too crazy or there's thunderstorms.

Gear Rental: Let me know if you need rentals prior via email. If you need a board and paddle and/or wetsuit, PFD, leash, etc send me your height and weight so I can choose appropiate sizes. Add $25 for gear rentals. Try our 18' racing/tour SUP!

Parking: Ballard Elks Club (near road); Seaview Ave; or Commodore Park in Magnolia.
