Vandals have spray painted the summit of Mission Peak. Let's work with East Bay Parks to remove the graffiti. EB Parks will supply the materials (except for safety glasses and gloves - which I'll supply). You supply the labor. The materials - and a few volunteers - will be transported nearly to the top. Please be prepared to hike up and down. In return you'll get the warm feeling of knowing you've helped an invaluable local park, my gratitude, and the opportunity to get a great view that many of us have enjoyed for years.
CAN YOU COMMIT to PARTICIPATE in the cleanup effort?

Q & A:
Q: Will I have to Hike to the summit and down?
A: Most likely. Please be prepared to do so.
Q: Is the time listed when work will begin?
A: No, for this event the time listed is when we will begin hiking at 8:00 AM. Work will start around 10:00 AM.
Q: What if I can't make it for the entire time?
A: We will welcome you whether you can help for 20 minutes or all day.
Q: Are there any restrictions I should be aware of?
A: East Bay Parks will require you to sign a waiver of liability.
Q: How long will it take to reach the summit?
A: That depends on your fitness, but it could take as little as an hour or as much as 3 hours.
Q: Will there be a power washer or tools?
A: Not likely since the last bit of the hike makes it difficult to transport anything heavy.
Q: Will I have to carry supplies up?
A: We'd like you to help for the last 100 feet of carry, but no, the supplies will be brought up by truck.
Q: What if it's raining?
A: We will let you know if we cancel. We do need for the road to be in decent shape to bring up the supplies - though we could carry them by hand!
Q: Will this be held on any other days?
A: Right now we've scheduled October 20, 27 and November 3rd. It will likely take more than one day unless we get a large group of people.
