Rob McGovern, Founder of CareerBuilder & CoBrain

Rob McGovern is a successful serial entrepreneur with a deeply rooted passion for helping people. With over 20 years of experience as a technology and media industry veteran, Rob is proven in his ability to create innovative companies that also produce positive social impact. Rob is most famously known for being the Founder and CEO of, an idea that came to him while sitting on the beach yet ultimately grew to be the largest job service platform on the Internet. Since its creation, tens of millions of people have used CareerBuilder to find more rewarding and fulfilling jobs.

Currently Rob is the Founder and CEO of Cobrain, a mobile application that leverages the worlds distributed intelligence to help individuals make better decisions. The inspiration for Cobrain came after Rob himself was involved in an accident that left him with a severe brain injury and in a coma for weeks. The doctors had predicted Rob would be vegetative as a result of the horrific accident. However, true to his entrepreneurial spirit, Rob overcame the tremendous odds, and within a few months was at 100%, only it was a different 100%.

His story is a shining example of what entrepreneurship truly means: Determination, Resilience, and Persistence in the face of overwhelming odds. Join Startup Grind Baltimore on August 5th, to hear from Rob his inspirational story of not only overcoming external limitation, but his own internal hurdles.

This is a special event w/ Rob McGovern. Startup Grind will be donating proceeds from ticket sales & sponsorships to the LivingClassrooms Foundation. Please make sure to purchase a ticket AND RSVP. We will have tons of media coverage, catering provided, and as always a Happy Hour provided by yours truly. If you know anyone who might be willing to sponsor/ donate for this event as well, please connect with me ([masked]/[masked]) All donations will be tax deductible, (E.g. $2,000 = $1,700 in tax deduction) so you will receive the majority back during tax season. Please be generous, and help us support the LivingClassrooms Foundation, whose programs help thousands of underprivileged, disabled, and struggling individuals every year within the community.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you to all the Baltimore area Grinders for your amazing support in a great program that aims to improve the very community we all live in.

    See you all there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
