Dan is an entrepreneur and software industry executive with broad experience spanning venture startups to $100B establishments. Dan has held executive positions in Corporate Acquisitions, Business Partner and Alliances, Product Development, Consulting Services and Customer Support, at companies such as IBM, Cognos, BEA/WebGain and Oracle.
Dan is currently the Executive leading the IBM Performance Management Division, a 500M+ software solution division, where he is responsible for managing and overseeing the direction, development, sales, marketing, service delivery and support of all on-premise and SaaS products, while ensuring the division achieves its financial and client objectives across all product lines. Formerly Dan led Mergers and Acquisitions for IBM Software Solutions Group, where he led the purchase and integration of over 14 companies per year, with investment in excess of $5B annually, and ranging in revenue size from $1M to $1B.
He graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in engineering (minor in business) and began his career in tech leading services and support with Omnimark, a small company that grew in size from $1M to $20M before being acquired by Stilo. After moving briefly to Cognos, Dan co-started his own company, Insurance Engine, disrupting and adding transparency to the enterprise insurance industry. It was subsequently acquired by Highroads. Dan then joined another startup company called Webgain, which was acquired a few years later by Oracle.
