Joseph is a Silicon Valley veteran based at Singapore, he is the go-to guy for tech companies and startups looking to tap into the Asia Pacific and SE Asia markets. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Joseph is currently working with Amazon Web Services in Singapore as the Startup Business Development Manager. He works with startups across Asia Pacific to help them achieve their organisational objectives and goals. Joseph designs and implements strategies to support the community and foster success for Amazon's customers by leveraging AWS solutions and technologies including the Amazon Partner Network (APN) and the entire breadth of the AWS reach across hundreds of thousands of businesses in over 190 countries.

After starting his professional career as a software developer at Netscape in 1995, Joseph later served NetGravity, Allbusiness.com, DoubleClick by Google, Idea and Xact Data Discovery in a variety of functions primarily directing technical services.

Joseph's aspirations as an entrepreneur didn't stop there and he moved on to building tech startups from the ground up. He co-founded Iris Data Services in 2006 and IndexMedia in 2011. As the Director of Technical Services, Joseph used cloud services and virtualization for Iris Data Services and was able to grow our revenue from 0 to $20M per year, with 940.2% growth over three years. Iris Data Services reached the 2011 Forbes Top 500 Fastest–Growing Private Companies in the US.

Come to Startup Grind Singapore last event of the year 2014 to hear Joseph discuss on the topic around “Singapore’s place in the Startup World”. Son Le Thanh is a professional software developer with more than 10 years of experience. During his career, he progressed from being Java programmer at Saigon Software Park, a Vietnamese Government-linked company, to his current role as a Product Manager at Deskera Open Source, a Sequoia-backed company in Singapore. Son launched his foray into the Singapore startup scene at Startup Weekend in October 2011, where he spun off a social mobile application project that had been conceptualized at the same event. Being a hustler, Son was rejected by the Founders Institute four times and by sheer grit, he soldiered on and was finally accepted into the April 2012 intake. In June 2012, Son launched the StartupGrind event series in Singapore after his trip to the Silicon Valley in April 2012. The event currently gathers a consistent crowd to share startup experiences and foster new networks. In his spare time, Son enjoys participating in side projects and mentoring technology projects through Start Up Nation. His greatest joy, however, is his young son, who will turn two this year. Son graduated from NUS with a Master of Technology in Software Engineering and has been awarded the PMP certification.
