Emmitt McHenry is the cofounder of Network Solutions, which was one of the first companies to operate the domain name system (DNS) registry under a sub-contract with the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) by gaving out names in .com, .org, .mil, .gov, .edu and .net, along with Internet Protocol (IP) address blocks.

2000, Network Solutions was acquired by VeriSign, Inc. for $21 billion.

He also founded NetCom Solutions International, a telecommunications, engineering, consulting, and technical services company which grew in revenues of $260 million and over 200 employees in Chantilly, Virginia and Oklahoma City.

Currently, He is the cofounder and Chairman of Archura.

He has a BA in Communications from University of Denver and MS in Communication from Northwestern University.
