@Derek, Please give me a refund. Compared to other non-free meetups, this one was terribly managed. I didn't receive a notice, no calendar item, no attendance confirmation, nor any of the common ways that a Meetup let's a person know they have an event pending. Since you changed the January event at the last minute, you were then negligent to reset and/or resend notices about the new time/date/location to the registered and pre-paid attendees. Or you should have offered a refund. Had there been any notice that I could have put on my calendar, I would have attended.

Barry - I don't see that you even bought a ticket, but just send your copy of receipt to dereka at startup grind dot com and I'll be happy to refund you. I sent out multiple email reminders, which were also posted here: http://www.meetup.com... Eventbrite also sends out automated messages.

If you're so offended you don't have to attend. After all you get what you paid for :-)

Richard - we're trying hard to fix this, but sometimes these speakers bail. We try to get the highest quality entrepreneurs and investors to speak. Secret - the April speaker - has built one of the hottest apps in the Valley this year. Just raised at a $40MM valuation. I would rather move the event and have a great speaker, than keep the date and get a filler. Hope you make it out but it not best of luck to you.

+1 to RV's comments, some of us plan our calendars and coordinate with others to be at these events.
Why exactly has this been cancelled at the last minute?
