Jason Leung is the Principal of Leung Law PC, a Toronto-based intellectual property law firm and has over fifteen years experience in law. He provides legal services for small to large businesses including trademarks, patents and copyright. In 2012, Jason was the first Canadian lawyer to be honoured by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) as one of their “Best Lawyers Under 40”.

Anil Bhole is a lawyer, patent agent and trademark agent at BHOLE IP LAW. Anil founded the firm after spending several years on Bay Street to meet the needs of underserved companies that require a comprehensive IP strategy to plan out IP legal services, and have a need for aligning IP with their business goals in general.
Anil’s clients include global leaders in machine learning, VR/AR, electronics, manufacturing systems, and consumer products among others. Prior to his legal career, Anil earned a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo and was an embedded software developer for an early stage medical devices company.

Bohdan has a broad working knowledge of the software & IT industry based on over 20 years of experience in leading engineering, product/project management, and strategic planning initiatives in both rapidly growing start-ups and large enterprises. Bohdan is also a named inventor in over 70 patents and pending patent applications world-wide.

Phil is an intellectual property manager and life sciences project manager at MaRS Innovation, where he works closely with researchers from local universities and research hospitals to help identify and commercialize valuable technologies in diverse fields such as: human therapeutics and diagnostics, information technologies, and clean energy. Prior to joining MaRS Innovation, Phil trained with an intellectual property boutique law firm in downtown Toronto as a member of the firm’s life sciences patent practice group. He has also acted as Director of Intellectual Property for a biotechnology start-up company, based in Mississauga, that develops novel anti-bacterial compounds for use in animal health and food safety.

Gabriella Chan, PhD, JD (@YoctoLaw)

Gabriella is a lawyer, scientist, and entrepreneur. Gabriella obtained her legal training at a national Bay Street law firm in Toronto. She founded Yocto Law, a boutique firm that provides client-tailored, and commercially focused legal services to entrepreneurs, academic researchers, start-up ventures, and
established companies in the Life Sciences and Health Technology sectors. Gabriella is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto where she teaches courses in intellectual property and commercialization.
Prior to founding Yocto, Gabriella served as the Vice President of Legal Affairs at a Toronto-area nanotechnology company and previously as the Intellectual Property and Technology Manager at another Toronto-area biotechnology start-up.
