I saw George Pal's "The Time Machine" when I was 4. Since then I have always been fascinated with Victorian era. My favorite album is "Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of the War of the Worlds". Oh and long coats, canes and top hats. Odd but true.
I was first interested in the Victorian Era since "The Time Machine" and the first Doctor from Doctor Who. Over the years I found bits and pieces that I enjoy like Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes and even the game Space: 1889 "Science-Fiction Role Playing in a More Civilized Time". I have a fascination with the appearance and aesthic of steampunk/Victorian like the art meshing with the form and function of devices. I am not an artist by any means, but there is something about brass wood that talks to me... It has impacted some of my clothing choices. As an example, while my favorite music is goth industrial music, I go to clubs in long overcoats vests and top hat. Silly but true. In reading history my favorite period is from about 1850 to 1945. Many other things.
Our group is mostly casual gamers, but we are trying to occasionally have longer game nights. Sounds like you would be interested in attending or organizing that type of meetup.
Hi! Ah yes...the Talons of Weng Chiang with Tom Baker. That's the one where the Doctor is wearing a velvet jacket. I have a velvet jacket with the same coloring and pattern.
