As a career-oriented gal dating a divorced Dad of 3 for about a year, I know I have had my share of ups and downs and found myself wondering if anyone else in Chicago would benefit from the formation of a support group.

I've read great books on being a Stepmom, etc., but nothing can replace the presence of warm bodies and real support.

I have searched and have not found what I'm looking for within the city limits. Therefore, my goal here at Meetup.com is to create a group of women who share this background of dating or being married to a Dad who meet regularly to support, encourage, inform, and have fun.

While venting is an important element of a support group, members should know this group will not be a place to unload frustrations only. We will seek to provide positive solutions and encouragement as well.

We can all benefit from one another's experiences, so please feel free to join if you are a married, engaged to, or dating a divorced Dad.
