Friends of StoryCorps Atlanta Meet Up

We are working to establish a multi-year StoryCorps StoryBooth in Atlanta, beginning in October 2009, to capture the rich and varied stories of Georgia’s families and communities. In order to do this, we need your help!

The purpose of this Meetup Group is to share our passion for StoryCorps, and to let you know how you may participate in this exciting project to have our own STORYBOOTH IN ATLANTA! Please check MEETUP for community events and organizational meetings. Help us get the word out and support our efforts.

The StoryCorps Atlanta booth launched October 22nd and resides inside the PBA/WABE station at 740 Bismark Road, Atlanta, GA 30324. PBA has dedicated funds AND a recording studio to this project. Please help us make this first year a successful one. PBA/WABE is the financial sponsor and we have committed to help the station raise the necessary funds to make this first year an overwhelming success.

“I believe in the strength & power of oral histories of "regular folks". The history we learned in school is painted with a very broad brush. Oral histories capture the nuances and allow us to constantly redefine ourselves.”
