Dedicated to promote and practice the art of Street Photography.

What is Street Photography?   Street photography is about taking candid pictures of everyday life on the streets. Is about taking pictures of people who are usually unaware of the photographer's presence. Is about wandering the streets looking for the unusual in everyday life.
The "street", as defined in street photography, might be a crowded boulevard or a country lane, a park in the city or a boardwalk at the beach, a lively cafe or a deserted hallway in a tenement, or even a subway car or the lobby of a theater.

Street photography captures the scene the way it is and is ideally presented to the viewer without extreme post-processing such as photoshop or HDR.

The club:   The purpose of the club is to promote and practice the art of street photography. We plan to have at least monthly meetings to learn about photographing on the streets, to show our photographs, share our experiences on the streets and get feedback. We will only concentrate on the subject of street photography as described above. This club is not about learning how to use a camera or using photoshop.

We also plan to have experienced photographers as guest speakers to share their knowledge on the art of street photography.

We will also schedule Meetups to shoot a specific locations suitable for this type of photography. We can either assign a specific location and meet there to shoot or you can shoot on your own.

The goal is to have fun and develop our skills and creativity as street photographers

"Oh, and no tripod, this was hand held, another advantage of shooting wide is that you can lower the speed at which you can shoot handheld. the rule is usually 1/focal length. I this case a 16mm lens allows me to shoot at 1/15 handheld."

"I'm pretty sure Reef Photo rents gear, but I'm not sure about lenses. They're right in Lauderdale, and specialize in underwater gear."
