I’m Sarah Barten, kindergarten teacher at James Monroe and active leader within Desert Sands USD. I have been teaching since 1998 and have watched resources get taken away from our students over the past several years (due to the economy). I have worked with the district & I have worked with the Teachers' Association, and both are striving to make the best environment for our children. Now it's time to bring parents into the mix. You are the strongest voice for your children. The strength is in your numbers & your capacity to vote. The purpose of this group is to be a forum for you to unify your voice so that we can create policy, at school site coucils, at district board meetings, and at the state political level. I invite you to join us to promote school policies that support our children at different schools across the 3 Coachella Valley districts.
