Sun, Fun and Sailing in Dana Point Pages

What is this group about?
Fun, Sailing, and Meeting New Friends! What else is there? It is open to anyone, couple or single, experienced or not, with or without boat, even if you have a powerboat we will let you in! So let's go have fun!

Boats and peoples homes have limited space so to be fair to the group, these Meetups will be limited to members only. If you have a guest, simply have them sign up to the group as well and both of you can reserve a spot. When we have a Meetup in a park or other public setting that is not spatially challenged then we can have guests.

Who is this Group for?
Although this is primarily a sailing group, it is also opened to other activities to bring the members together to become acquainted with each other.

If you have ideas for Meetups that you would like to organize, ask me and I can make you an Event Organizer. As long as it fits within the general idea of having fun and making friends, sailing, watersports, the outdoors, and being on or near the ocean, it's all good.

Most people enjoy sharing and teaching others what they enjoy, and sailors are no exception. If you want to learn how to sail just ask the captain and you can get your hands on to the many task's involved in sailing.

Reserving a Spot
For a sailing event, please understand that the capacity is limited - please RSVP only if you really mean it. Please keep the following guide lines in mind when you reserve a spot.

  • If something does happen to prevent you from attending the Meetup please take yourself off the Waitlist right away so the next person on the Waitlist will get the most advanced notice possible. Please remember the Waitlist is automated.
  • Please be a good communicator with the Event Host, if you have RSVP'd to the event but cannot make it, contact the host so they can find an alternate.
  • If you are on the Waitlist and think you can attend the event at the spur of the moment with only a few hours notice, then please email the host with your phone number the day before. I have had people wake up sick and, with only a few hours to find an alternate, the Waitlist is too slow.

"A good traveler has no fixed plan, and is not intent on arriving." - Lao-Tzu, The Way of Life
When someone say's OMG, 7 hours to Catalina!....what do you do that whole time? I tell them "The same things I will do once I get there.....relax, read, listen to music, enjoy the marine life and sun, and enjoy the company of good friends.

  • Alcohol is OK on the boat but please, check with your captain first to see if he/she is OK with it. NO RED WINE, please! In any case, please be responsible and respectful.
  • FUN! Have lots of it.

Let's have some fun. I'll see you on the water!
