Sunday Assembly: Embracing Your Mistakes

Details
Are you being too hard on yourself? Try a little tenderness. At our Mother's Day assembly, Marilin Colón (http://understandingbehavior.com/about) will speak to us about the psychological process behind making mistakes and how we can learn to love being wrong.
On Being Wrong: Admitting (and Even Embracing) Fallibility
In our society — and in education, especially — people are encouraged to provide the “right” answer, and are not encouraged to focus on the process used to achieve the results. Consequently, most of us hate being wrong. This talk will examine the psychological processes at work when we make mistakes which, if explored and understood, allow us to admit when we’re wrong, and even to embrace our fallibility.
Kids' Corner - The kids will be making some beautiful bright roses for mom. We will have origami for the older ones (which will give them plenty of chances to embrace their fallability.)
Music - Here is a Spotify Playlist (https://open.spotify.com/user/12126260113/playlist/36VNJuuV9Ig0qHwys4UpO9), and a YouTube Playlist (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1nR6vp7eJph8shrZyh5tCIARIyqcueWR) so you can get a hang of the songs.
Hungry? Join us for lunch after assembly at a lovely patio. Brown bag it or grab something at Happy Dog or The House of Bagels - 284 S. 11th St. (at San Carlos), just two blocks from the SJWC.
