Meet kindred classic mystery lovers in a local Meetup Book Club! Do you wonder "Who done it"? Do you use "the little grey cells"? Or do you think "it's elementary"?
You do? Then the obvious deduction is that you should join us at the Sundays Slay Me Mystery Book Club.
The group meets on the fourth Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m. We will try out local cafes and pubs to find the ideal location for our monthly meetings.
Our primary activity is to discuss a classic murder mystery novel by renowned mystery authors: Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Dorothy Sayers, Ellery Queen, Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Erle Stanley Gardner, Wilkie Collins, etc. We will choose works written prior to and including the "Golden Age" of mysteries, i.e. the 1920s-40s. We will NOT be reading any contemporary works. Special events also will be scheduled occasionally: Game Nights, Movie Nights, Murder Mystery Dinner Parties, and more.
Look in the Photo albums for thematic bookmarks each month. Find our Master Book List in the "Files" section (a work in progress).
NOTICE TO NEW MEMBERS: I request that new members attend a book discussion before signing up for additional activities, such as Movie Night. You will be very welcome to join in the "fun" events once we get to know you.
In preparation for our 11/22 book discussion of The Hound of the Baskervilles, we'll gather on Friday night to watch a film adaptation.
