This workshop is more than irresistible!
Because you can grow or purchase herbs, you cook with them. Realizing later that they are good medicine as well you begin to drink them in teas. Soon you discover your can make herbal massage oils, or salves and then you?re done for! Herbs have taken a hold of your soul and there?s no turning back! You?ve become an Urban Herbalist!
Making herbal oils for massage, therapeutic use or just pure enjoyment is one of those things most people think about but rarely undertake. Most Urban Herbalists don?t even make their own! Why cramp your style by purchasing high cost, chemical filled, fake oils when you can make your own high quality concoction any way you want it! This workshop is just in time for Valentines Day!
Are we in for some fun!
Saturday February 5 from 3 ? 5pm
Cost: $25.00 Includes the workshop and a decorative take home bottle of yummy massage/soothing oil for your skin.
So what is an Urban Herbalist?
An Urban Herbalist is a wonderful thing to be! They are part cheap, part environmental, part gardener, and plantspeople, part city dweller, part medical practitioner, part rebel, part scientist, hug an occasional tree and they are you! The sooner you get over the fear of just doing it, the happier you will be.
One interesting tidbit about herbal techniques is that they have changed relatively little in thousands of years. Herbalists still employ herbs and herb mixtures, in teas, decoctions, tinctures, syrups, cordials, oils, salves, wines, vinegars, poultices, and incense. As a gardener and a romantic, I find the prospect of making fragrant, tasty, and medicinal potions more than irresistible!
