Starting in the town of Midhurst we set off with excellent view over the castle, making our way south though the hamlet of West Lavington and though the woods of Little London. Stopping for briefly at Heyshott before heading up to the South Downs. There is a steep climb up onto the South Downs and a steep descent later on. After crossing over the top we make our way though Charlton Forest.
We stop for a packed lunch and head north back to South Downs Way where their should be excellent views for the surrounding countryside and farmland. We climb down Heyshott Downs into the small village of Cocking, before making our way back though Cocking Causeway - stopping for a drink in the pub on the way.
There are no shops or places to eat along the way so please make sure you have a packed lunch.
