Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night!
Just a reminder, to avoid the slow setup times we experienced last week and to have the right codebase to start the week 2 exercises, please follow the instructions at https://github.com/ThoughtWorksAustralia/AndroidBootcampProject/blob/master/WeeklySetup.mdbefore you come.
There has been a very recent change to the Robolectric 2.3 snapshot we are using which will cause gradle to download it again. If you can, please open your project with a good internet connection before you come tomorrow night to allow that to happen.
ThanksMary-AnnePresenter, Week 2

I'm keen to speak with Android Developers about both permanent and contract opportunities in Sydney; I'm only looking for people with 2 years plus experience at this point. If interested please contact me on[masked], or send me an email - [masked]. Thanks, Jim Pashley

Here's some things we're going to change in response to your feedback:
* Will strongly encourage everyone to set up their machine beforehand, including building a later version of the code so that Robolectric is downloaded.* Will introduce self and assistants before the presentation* Will have a brief feedback session between each set of exercises* Will talk about the rapidly changing Android environment* Will keep using the whiteboard as an FAQ area
To avoid the slow setup times we experienced this week and to have the right codebase to start the week 2 exercises, please follow the instructions at https://github.com/ThoughtWorksAustralia/AndroidBootcampProject/blob/master/WeeklySetup.mdbefore you come.

Thanks to all who came and participated in Android Bootcamp this week! Here are some comments you gave in our retrospective at the end of the evening:
"Good presentation with audience engagement and good social atmosphere""Good to have tech support wandering around""Good slides and step by step guide for exercises""Game idea was simple but includes enough components""Good taste of Android""I liked - * The steps weren't so straightforward you didn't have to think! * Graphics were adorable!""Documentation on Github is good""Thanks for doing that! Really!"
Things that could be improved:
"Troubles with wifi""Introduction would have been nice""Setup was very slow. It could be a MUST to do this beforehand""Some of exercises assumed knowledge, eg Exercise 2 'Create a TextView' How??""Suggest a hint or FAQ area so I didn't have to continually ask""Slides/exercises out of date with latest Android Studio""Could have checkpoints between exercises"

Would it be possible to make the week 3 bootcamp on the Wednesday? It conflicts with the monthly Android meet up that week.

Let's take a break that week, and also the Tuesday after Easter. I'm presenting at the Android meetup in Week 3, about lessons learned from preparing Week 2 :-).
