Evening Walk: Chatswood Circular via Fullers Bridge ending at Bavarian Bier Cafe

Join me for a stunning circular walk featuring part of the Rail to River walk and Blue Gum Reserve.

From Chatswood Station, we will head along Victoria Avenue, then across the Pacific Highway to Western Way. When we hit Edgar Street we will take the Rail to River and Ferndale Park loop tracks that skirt around the edge of Chatswood Golf Course. When we reach O.H Reid Memorial Park, we will take Reid Drive to Fullers Bridge in Lane Cove National Park. After a short break, we will then take a bush track via Blue Gum Reserve and Kooba Avenue. We will exit the bush at Dulwich Road, then back streets to Chatswood Station

Distance: 7K

Type of Walk : Mainly on bush tracks with a few sections on quiet streets.

Difficulty : Medium. There will be rocks, tree-roots and uneven surfaces to deal with. There are a few ascents and descents especially towards the end of the walk.

Transport : Catch the train to Chatswood Station. Trains run every 3 minutes from the City and North Sydney during peak hours.

There are frequent trains back to the City from Chatswood Station.

If you are driving, parking is limited around Chatswood Station. If you park on Dulwich Road, Tessa Street or View Street and walk to the station, then there is a good chance that we will walk past your car on our return to Chatswood Station.

What to Bring :

• Good walking shoes or trainers

• Water

• Snacks

• Insect Repellent

• Torch (in case we don't complete the walk in daylight)

• Warmer layers and a waterproof if the weather looks unsettled on the day.

Walking Pace : Quite leisurely. We will check out the scenic view points and keep a look out for interesting wildlife.

Gratuity: There will be a $2 gratuity for this walk.

Pub: We will finish the walk at the Bavarian Bier Cafe. Treat yourself to a premium German beer and some wholesome German food! The Bavarian Bier Cafe which is right next to Chatswood station.
