This is a sports-free zone! This text will not be interrupted every few minutes with news about the latest cricket, tennis, footie, bowling or golf scores. If you need constant updates about balls, which way they're moving, how fast, how hard, how far, and what are the odds, tune in to Channels 7, 9, 10, SBS or ABC.
But if you're into music and conviviality then you've come to the right place. Our idea is to party like it's 1999 and to visit beauty spots and places of interest all over Sydney. We shall concentrate on short walks and easy to reach destinations.
Expect Music, Dancing and Moonlight Prancing!
We'll launch this group with a barbecue at my place in early February. I will provide basic food, ie nibblies, hot dogs, soft drinks etc and you are welcome to bring anything else you'd like to eat and drink. My place is just an average suburban home but with a huge back yard and covered patio area. Ideal for parties.
Dundas/Telopea (I'm right on the border) is easy to reach no matter where you live in Sydney. Some people seem to think that we're hundreds of miles away from anywhere but in a recent Sydney Morning Herald poll, this is the population epi-centre of Sydney, in fact the cross-hairs go right over my house!
I can reach Bondi, Chatswood, Hurstville and Baulkham Hills in just over 30 minutes (not all at once, of course) and I'm quite a cautious driver. There's plenty of safe, free parking here, in fact there's room for more than thirty cars.
Ciao4now, Doug
