Puppet....not just for the experts! Join us on Thursday 14th at Sirca.

** NB - Change of day, Thursday 14th Aug, one time only! **

Complete with our new group name....we're aiming to help more people with their Puppet journey. Not just for the Puppet Masters of this world....the "Devops engineer on the ground" as well!

Apologies for the change of day this month again! We will be back to the second Wednesday from next month.

We have a couple of great speakers lined up for Thursday 14th as follows...

Michael Richardson, Odecee - Senior Devops Consultant of many years experience, Michael is going to be sharing some of his experiences around 'Exported Resources and PuppetDB - Methods for sharing information between nodes'

Cara Crawford, Healthdirect - Senior Architect, with some great experiences to share around migrating to AWS, and some of the associated Puppet challenges. Don't miss it!

The market is very lively just now, so we will be doing the usual 15 seconds of glory...i.e. Stand up to let the world know that you're looking for Puppet / Devops work, or a talented Puppet resource.

As always, we invite and need member participation. These Meetups are a great place to take your first step at public speaking. Fantastic from a personal development perspective, and also helpful to get your name on the map ;) What do they say...9->5 to survive, after 5 to thrive!

Let us know what topics are of interest, and then come and join us!

All, I had asked a question to edit files thru puppet yesterday. I just found this Looks good to me, it might be useful for someone else too. I am trying it out now. Thanks.

      Hey Vikas,
There is also stdlib's "file_line" for basic stuff: https://forge.puppetla...

I'd be hesitant to use anything other than augeas, stdlib or templates for handling file content.

    Hi all,

Thanks for coming last night, and big thanks to Michael, Cara and Patrick for their talks.

I've uploaded the video for anyone interested - I'm not sure if Youtube is still processing the HD version as it's only 360p currently, which is pretty lame.

That's good. Let's wait for sometime for Google to fix it.

Just a feedback of the meetup. I really enjoyed last evening, gave me a lot more options to explore puppet. Cheers.
