Cybersecurity: Why Your Small Business Has the Most to Lose
Hosted by Syracuse Tech Meetup
Details
A recent report from Symantec Security Response found that the majority of cyber attacks today target small businesses with fewer than 2,500 employees. Further, in this past year attacks on businesses with 250 employees or less increased by 13%.
With the rate at which these types of attacks are increasing, small businesses have never been more at risk. This hour long seminar seeks to inform small business owners about the threats they face and discuss countermeasures that can be taken to combat against them.
In particular, the following questions will be addressed:
· Why now more than ever are small businesses being targeted?
· What attributes in particular make small businesses susceptible and appealing targets?
· How are attackers taking advantage? What specific attacks are they employing?
· What consequences can these attacks have on small businesses?
· What roles do insurance providers play and is cyber insurance a viable option to offset the risk?
What cost-effective measures can small businesses take internally to mitigate the threat?
