We will meet once a week on Sundays and practice and learn Cheng Man Ching's 37 posture form. We will spend time breaking the form down, showing application and also stress the importance of body awareness especially through the yin yang transformations throughout the form. Practice of the form on a daily basis can lead to both better health, greater awareness and the development of inner wisdom.

Quoting from Professor Cheng in his book "Cheng Man Ch'ing's Advanced T'ai Chi Form Instructions on page 32, translation by Douglas Wile.

"If you ask me what I have gained from forty years of study, it can be summed up in twelve words: "Swallow the ch'i of Heaven; receive the earth's strength; longevity through softness.:  If you ask its usefulness, then I would answer that in the human body, ch'i leads the blood.  Therefore, if the ch'i flourishes, then the blood flourishes.  Heaven is rich in great ch'i.  To avail oneself of much of it cannot be considered greed.  Strength is very useful in the human body.  The earth is valued for its supporting power.  If we can receive just a tiny bit of it, the usefulness will be infinite.  If one can develop softness, then as Lao Tzu says, one can be like a child.  In this way, our life has no limit."I

Introducing the even the smallest amount of Tai Chi into your week can enhance your life greatly.   It can help you feel more relaxed, grounded and better able to cope with the hectic pace of modern life.  In addition to the obvious benefits of slowing down for a while, Tai Chi classes can also become the beginning of a joyful journey of insight and personal development.
