Well, folks, here is our chance!
Would Monday Dec. 29th be a night you could meet? 7 pm.
I apologize for the short notice, and the bad timing, but I just got this invitation (see below) from the head of the Department of Health and Human Services. HHS needs our suggestions about how to reform health care by Dec. 31, 2008. I've agreed to run a meeting to send HHS and Obama OUR INPUT and suggestions, and they are listening!
Personally, I am interested in HHS promoting PREVENTATIVE Health Care. I know they are worried that Medicare will be bankrupt in 10 years the way we are going. It's time for the shift! Challenges bring opportunities! Let's do what we can to get good food, education and less drugs in this country.
Please let me know if you can come. If not, please send me your suggestions. These are the topics I said we would talk about, but we can add others.
Preventative Health Care
Availability of Unaltered Food
Universal Health Care
Universal death care?
Healing with Diet
The Economic Situation and its Effect on Health Care
Pharmaceutical Payoffs to Doctors
Elderly people being given multiple drugs
Medical Doctors lack of knowledge about Preventative Medicine
The AMA and its control of everything
The FDA and its control of everything.
The problems with Medicare
I'll let you know about the location in Florida.
If you are a healer, please join my meetup to get ongoing information, and please pass the word to other healers and those in the alternative health community. We need our voice heard.
We can address other topics as well. I just had to send in something. If you can't come, please send me suggestions.
If you can come, please RSVP, preferably on this meetup site, or else by email to [address removed]
I will be receiving instructions about what to do from the head of Health and Human Services. Stay tuned.
WHO ELSE NEEDS TO KNOW About this meeting? PLEASE PASS THE WORD.
We will have organic coffee and tea available for purchase if you come promptly at 7 pm (even though eco-bean usually closes before then.) By the way, their coffee is really good.

Over the coming weeks, thousands of Americans will be leading Health Care Community Discussions -- small local gatherings in which Americans are sharing thoughts and ideas about reforming health care. President-elect Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary-designate Tom Daschle are counting on Americans from every walk of life to help identify what's broken and provide ideas for how to fix it.
You can help shape that reform by leading your own Health Care Community Discussion anytime between now and December 31st.
Secretary-designate Daschle recorded a short message about these important discussions. Watch the video and sign up today to lead a discussion in your community:
Watch the video and sign up to lead a discussion
Secretary-designate Daschle is committed to reforming health care from the ground up, which is why he won't just be reading the results of these discussions -- he'll be attending a few himself.
When you sign up to lead a discussion, we'll provide everything you need to make your conversation as productive as possible, including a Moderator's Guide with helpful tips. All you have to do is reach out to friends, family, and members of your community and ask them to attend -- and, when it's over, tell us how it went. The Transition's Health Policy Team will gather the results of these discussions to guide its recommendations for the Obama-Biden administration.
No transition has tried something like this before, and your participation is essential to our success.
