Announcing a new Meetup for The Twin Cities New Friends Meetup!

What: Balls of Fury: A Ping Pong Tournament

When: October 25,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Attention all Ping Pong players! This Saturday, test your skills at the first ever New Friends Meetup Ping Pong Tournament. This will be a 16 player, double elimination tournament. So if you lose once, fear not, because you?ll get a shot at redemption. Here are the details of the event:

Where: Mackenzie: An American Bar with a Scotch Flavor (918 Hennepin Ave Minneapolis, MN)
When: Saturday, October 25th
Time: 6pm
Equipment: Paddles and balls are provided but feel free to bring your own

As stated earlier, this is a double elimination tournament. The advantage of this tournament style is that everyone will get to play at least twice. The disadvantage (or advantage depending on how you look at it) is that we will play 30 ? 31 games. Because of the large number of games, the first 20 games will be played to 11 points. Once we are down to the final eight players, which will happen by game 21, we will play each game to 21 points. And as always, you must win by 2 or more points.

Beginners and self-proclaimed pros are all welcome to take part in this tournament. Just remember to leave the short shorts at home.

As a note, I?m capping this meetup at 16 and removing the maybe option. If the meetup is full, but you want to be wait listed, please let me know.

Oh, and as for where to meet me?When you walk into Mackenzie, you?ll see an opening to a staircase directly in front of you, past the dart boards. Go up the staircase to the second level. Take a right and head straight back. You?ll see the ping pong table as well as the players. A meetup sign will be posted as well. If you?re running late, are lost, or simply can?t find me, call me on my cell at[masked]-2706.
