Yes, that's right..I have always loved this movie Planet of the Apes. I saw it when I was a kid. It was a huge movie and me and all my little buddies went to see it again and again. Sure! we could see how phoney the makeup was. Yeah, when the Apes and Orangutans were talking it just did not look quite right. But we were into it and we were kid's
After all Charlton Heston was in it! he made it believable. It was just great. And when he escaped from the cage and there was this big run around trying to get him back in the cage the apes had no Idea that he could talk. They thought that he was just a mute hairless little freak......Except Dr. Zaius..He knew the truth.
So all hell breaks lose, a bunch of running around after Chuck and they capture him in a net and hoist him up and then the greatest scene in movie history happens. As the Apes and such are hoisting him up he yells out ''GET YOUR STINKING PAWS OFF ME YOU DAMN DIRTY APES''I was in heaven...I almost choked on my Red Hots....And then the ending with the statue of Liberty. Chuck gets off his horse and you realize it's Earth he has been on Earth the whole time It wasn't an Ape planet It was Planet Earth''MY HOME TOWN''
He yells out, god damn you! god damn you! you did it! you really did it! you blew it up!!!
Me and my buddies were like wha what? who blew what up?? We didn't know nothing about atomic bombs..we were confused but it was cool anyway...
o'k' after all this we are going to go to the exact spot that this happened.
If you are a fan of this movie you know what I mean. If not it's just a hike.
It will be a 4 mile hike or so. We could continue to the M.A.S.H. site.
