I'm Rick and i am a docent for Malibu Creek State Park.

For the first time in park history, i am offering moonlight poetry hikes at Malibu Creek.

Come experience Malibu Creek at night, where we will be serenaded by the songs of crickets, frogs and coyotes;while bright stars and moonlight cast their light and shadows on the rocks and trees; and in the stillness of the night, and next to a babbling creek,we will read to each other our favorite poems.

The hike will be 2 1/2 hours, 6 miles, 500 foot gain, round trip at a slow pace to the Mash

TV site.

Hike should be done by 10:00pm, if not sooner.

Please bring the Following: Boots, day or fanny pack, 1 quart water, bug spray, basic first-aid kit,sweater, snacks to share, flash light for extra light while reading poetry and some of your favorite poetry to read and share with the group.

Rain,High winds or fire Danger cancels hike.

Directions: exit 101 Fwy at Las Virgenes Rd in Calabasas and head south for several

miles where first light/intersection is Mulholland. Park entrance is just passed Mulholland.

on the right.

Cost to park is $12.00 dollars or you can park for free at the Grasslands trail head and walk in. Make a right at Mulholland and park. trail head is quarter mile west on Mulholland

on the south side of the road. Takes 10 minutes to walk to main park Road.

Make left turn on main park Rd and head back to parking lot.

Please allow extra time if you do this.......
