What we’re about
Think is: getting together with good people to have good discussions about interesting topics. Because the emphasis is on being communicative, considerate, diplomatic, giving everyone a chance to speak and express why and what we think and feel about important topics: these group discussions help satisfy the spiritual and intellectual in a healthy and friendly way.
Most importantly: expressing ones own thoughts on important issues and putting them into words seems to grow our own understanding of ourselves.
Also: hearing out of other peoples ideas and thoughts in person grows and matures our perspective, world view, rationality, empathy, patience, and understanding of others, and of our own self. It also proves to be fun, as the group always seems to develop some good friendships, even when we may be at totally opposite opinions on a some subjects.
More interesting still is how often we can agree with one another on one thing yet we will disagree on another, and noticing how practically everyone is like that (married couples certainly understand this).
This group started 10 years ago, met together for over 8 years, once a month, and the discussions were most often lively, intellectual, interesting and invigorating. We havent met as a group since Covid 2020 but we are looking forward to doing so now. We will meet in South San Jose and we can meet at Giovanni and Ginas home (where we had the Think BBQs) until we find a bigger venue.
