There will be some climbing to get to the top of Sandstone Peak. This hike includes the spectacular Echo Cliffs where rock climbers ascend shear cliffs, a house sized boulder delicately balanced on a small rock beneath, a giant split rock where kids can dash between the sheer walls, stunning giant sandstone formations, and breathtaking views from the top of Sandstone Peak and Inspiration point.
We'll hike to the Tri-Peaks and do a little cave exploring also today. See link for hiker comments and pictures from prior year's hike. https://www.meetup.com/TOaks-Hikers/calendar/9593127/?from=list&offset=0

Note that we are meeting at the Mishe Mokwa Trailhead (not the Sandstone Peak Trailhead) There are 3 parking lots indicated on the map. Ours is the one all the way to the right on the map by the Mishe Mokwa Trail.
Or Click on this link to see parking lot. The blue icon on the right is the parking lot for Mishe Mokwa Trail.
A suggestion: If you've never been to the trailhead before allow yourself more than enough time to arrive earlier than posted departure time. This allows for extra time to find the actual meeting place. Look for our group please. If you don't see anyone at the trailhead, then you're in the wrong place and need to move to the correct one.
Parking is free. Carpooling is recommended. Use comments section to find rides.
Dogs on leashes are allowed.
