The Rocky Peak Trail is located in Rocky Peak Park at the top of Santa Susana Pass on the east side of Simi Valley. The trail to the top of the peak offers dramatic views of Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley, on very clear days you can even see downtown Los Angeles.
Rocky Peak with an elevation of 2,714 feet is approximately 2.5 miles from the trailhead. The trail can be steep at times for there is an elevation gain of 1,100 feet. Along the trail and throughout the 5,000 acre park are dramatic sandstone formations, caves and stacked boulders.
Bring water for you and your pooch.
Bring snacks, hat, sunscreen, camera.
See if you can carpool with someone -- parking at the trailhead is limited.
I'll collect $1 at the trailhead.
