I'm in. Let's make it happen

I've been following this for a while. Please let me know if it's going to be starting up. I'm a bit out of shape from this winter, haha! Used to run with the OWLs, but I missed meeting up with them last year. My pace isn't fast (12min-15min for 3-5 miles), so a beginning/transitioning run would be great!

The Saturday morning 5 mile is intimidating for me too but I figure if it gets to be too much, I will just change my pace to a fast walk so come on anyway.

Kathryn in the workout runs we are generally under 9:00 pace. But the other two runs on Thursday and Saturday, after this week, will be at whatever pace you want to go - we won't leave anybody behind. I'll run sweep if need be.
I already run and did the muddy fanatic this past saturday...sign up for 2 more which is why i want to start training on trail runs....how fast is everyone...I am like a 10/10.30 minute miler
Absolutely! For beginner ladies, the OWLs are the perfect fit. For guys, ya gotta tough it out with us. But if you can't keep a hard pace yet, I have just changed to "no-drop" status for the runs Sat 8AM and Thurs 7PM.
the OWL's Monday night run is a great place to start. They do an hour usually, at an easy pace and usually there is someone there who will walk/jog too if you need. I'm not jumping into a 5 mile run either!
We have discussed for a couple weeks changing one of the Thursday runs to a slower tempo and making the other a hard workout run, and doing the same for Saturday. I think it's time to do that.
For ladies only (guys, don't even think about it!), there is a meetup called Outdoor Women of Louisville (OWLs) that does, among other things, a couple of easy trail runs each week (Monday and Wednesday evenings). They generally do 2-4 miles at a much slower pace than most of our group. Also, as our group grows with better weather, we can split our runs into a couple different pace groups, which will enable more disparate fitness levels to comfortably do the runs.
