I think it's a great idea to add some more regular runs as well as some outings to races, here's what I'm doing which might fit:
Weekly runs - I run 5 days a week. Usually in southern indiana (Mount St. Francis, Knobstone, Lapping park). I could host an early morning run at least some weeks.
Races - I am planning these so far for this year:
- Bound the Bound 1/2 marathon - March 3
- Marathon - sometime in May, haven't picked one yet. I'm thinking of these: Gnaw Bone, IN; Berryman Trail Marathon, MO; Iron Master's Challege, PA.
- 50k - sometime in July, haven't picked one yet
- North Country Run (50 mile) - August 25
North Country Run has a couple of supported training runs of the course (it's one 25 mile loop that you run twice). I'm thinking of heading up for the first one (April 15). Would love to have company for this.
River to River trail - I'm thinking of doing a fast packing trip on this trail in the fall. It would be about 160 miles, 4 days, unsupported.

Well, folks, my time has unfortunately freed up a bit. I have been so busy in the past couple years that I haven't taken the time to make this group as fun and fulfilling as it can be. Still very busy but able to run more. With more time to make this Meetup a better resource for you, I would like to add three elements for 2012:
First, I would like to add a run or two to augment our Saturday morning frolics at 7 and 8, and would love your input into when and where to do runs. As we are scattered all over town, perhaps something other than Cherokee would work for some. With 133 members, we have an opportunity to do more peer-to-peer runs, where others are able to lead runs. If you can dependably lead a run at a particular time, please let me know and perhaps we can expand our options.
Second, I would like to add group trips to out-of-town races. It's a lot more fun when you're going with friends. For example, I will be doing the LBL 50-miler March 10, as will several of our members. While the 2012 races are full and closed to new registration, LBL (with its four distances - 10K to 50 miles) would be a perfect trip for 2013 (wish I had thought of it earlier). If you have a race you want to do or have enjoyed in the past, feel free to post it for everyone's consideration. Particularly events with multiple distances make great road trips for a group.
Finally, if there is enough interest I would like to add a group training element. For example, we could get together to develop a group training plan (in general, for a particular race, whatever) and then schedule a group workout or two each week in addition to running on our own. Particularly, if anyone would like to delve into ultra-running, we could develop a training plan for next year's LBL races. But really this can be whatever you want it to be.
Any other suggestions for the Meetup would be greatly appreciated. Let's make this the place to be in 2012!
