REST APIs: Guts and Glory

Details
This will be a tech session on REST API implementation, with code walk through. We'll have lots of time for Q&A, so come ready to lean and explore.
Carl Nobile will discuss how a RESTful web API is developed using the Python/Django (https://www.djangoproject.com/) framework. He will show how he has designed a system using microservices which will eventually be split across multiple servers ... running on Raspberry Pi (https://www.raspberrypi.org/)!
If time allows, David Biesack will show the implementation of a URL shortening/lengthening microservice (similar to bit.ly or tunyurl or countless others) implemented with Java and Spring. We'll see all the tedious things you don't have to do because Spring does it all for you, letting you concentrate on your domain logic.
We thank DZone for hosting TRI REST Meetup!
