My year long project recently ended and I'm looking for new opportunities to make the complex simple. My most productive language is Ruby, and enjoy bringing Ruby to the Java world with JRuby. I'm also a wiki evangelist, having proposed, installed, administered, and provided content for several successful wikis. In addition to the proficiency in several computer languages, I have skills in human languages as well. My best languages are French and Swedish (the latter self-taught), but I've also taught myself bits of Korean, Thai, Japanese, and Spanish. I love travel, my last trip being to Singapore for the first-ever regional Ruby conference in Southeast Asia, Red Dot RubyConf in April 2011. I've traveled to Southeast Asia several times, and have connections with software developers in various countries there, especially Singapore and the Philippines. I have a little teaching experience, having taught C language at NYU in 1988.
I'm a longtime software developer, having travelled C -> C++ -> Java -> Ruby, with some Erlang, Clojure, and Linux sysadmin. I like learning best practices from the masters, and value technical community (e.g. barcamps, user groups, conferences).
Great idea, great execution. Keep up the good work!
