Welcome to the first TWiP SmugMug meetup of 2011!! We're kicking off the year right with an amazing NEW meeting location, assistant organizers, an awesome line-up of speakers, and MORE. Oh yea, there will be FOOD too!

AOL, Inc. has graciously donated the use of their amazing Palo Alto HQ lecture room for us to use for meetups, workshops, etc. This meetup will be the first in this new location.

An added bonus of moving from the library is that we can now move the meetings BACK TO MONDAYS!! If you recall, we had to shift to Tuesdays due to budget cuts (the library is now closed Mondays).

And to top all of that off, check out the first speaker we've got lined up for you...

Thank you to everyone who attended our meetup! I wanted to let you know that we found someone's fleece in the room when we were picking up last night. If you are missing one, please email me to describe it so I can get it back to you. Thanks.

I learned a lot in this presentation.

This was my first Smug Mug and it was GREAT! Michael Corsentino's tips in lightroom were clear and incredibly helpful! He spoke about everything you said he would...that alone is 5 stars.

This active professional photographer demonstrated his workflow and shortcuts and explained the benefits of the image processing choices he has made. There was a lot to learn and more to think about.

Good knowledge and content, but specific to a professional workflow for weddings. I did get something out of the split-toning and using the brush with negative clarity for skin. I'd like more Lightroom tips in the editing module so that I spend less time in Photoshop - the great time sink of all photo apps.

Good presentation, and great new site for the meets. Altho the lightroom presentation was over my head, as I have neither literoom nor a mac.

Learned quite a few tips as speaker Michael Corsentino walked-through a couple of his time-saving LR automation secrets. For this type of power session, I would have loved a (digital) handout for reference. Frederick, Ernest, and Topher- thanks for all your work in setting up the meetup in this new venue - it was very comfortable and everything looked great! Looking forward to the workshops!

I learned Way more than I ever thought I would from this meeting. It was the best one yet. I enjoyed seeing how another photographer uses Lightroom. in his photo processing.

  • Bill Taroli

I really enjoyed the session. Got lots of interesting food for thought and really useful practical tips for working quickly with Lightroom. Looking forward to trying these ideas out and seeing how they affect my work!

Was very focused on pro-level production techniques, mainly ones that save time. As a non-pro, but sophisticated LR user, I was hoping for more techniques for working with images to eke out quality and/or different looks. What was presented was good for what it intended to convey.

Great session in an improved venue. The speaker was terrific with many great Lightroom techniques.

Learned quite a bit from Michael. Wish I could get his folder structure.

I have LR3 installed but have yet to use it. This was probably great for power users (yeah, I know that was the session title). There were some conceptual ideas that I came away with but, otherwise, was mostly over my head. Back to the books.

I learned a lot about Lightroom plug-ins and automation and how to think about being more efficient. Michael shared great ideas about using them to be more efficient in the Lightroom workflow.

    January 31, 2011

  • Ernest Aguayo

Hi, Walker. On the top right, there should be a "Can't Go" link. If you click on that, it should change your RSVP to say you can't make it. Let me know if this doesn't work. Hope to see you at a future event!

    January 30, 2011

  • Walker

With this new format, I do not know how to change my reservation to NO so someone else can have my spot. Let me know
