NEW MEETING START UP TIME: 9:00 AM -- and other tidbits

A morning person, I'm not, but at least for the summer, we'll start our meetings a little earlier: 9:00 AM. The 'official' ending time is still 12:00 PM although we've been missing that by more than an hour. Although there have been some grumbles about that, it reflects the group's enthusiasm to write and participate in discussion of everyone's submissions.
At the last meeting, we tried to limit the cross-talk and the meeting really felt flat. We gave up on the idea, and the meeting turned dynamic once more.
It has been my observation that a great deal is learned about the craft of writing in that kind of free and open discussion. The fact that we are having this 'problem' is not indicative of failure but of the group's success. Meetings are fun to attend.
Please be aware that we review submissions from shortest to longest with one exception: Mine will always be at the end.
I have one thought that might make the meetings a little shorter:
(1) Have meetings three times a month. Everyone is welcome to come to all three and we hope you will  BUT...
(2) Any one member can only submit to TWO of them (20 pages) AND...
(3) It cannot always be the same two meetings. This last is to try to spread the critiques out.
(4) If we still have too many submissions per meeting, we'll limit the number.

The other possibility is just to bite the bullet and let the meeting to end when it will.

Personally, I can only make Saturdays, but I enjoy the meetings so much, I don't mind how long they are.
Obviously, I would not be able to make a third meeting. Carmen

I find the freeform feedback very helpful, and I'm happy to make extra time for meetings that go long. It'd be difficult for me to attend an alternate meeting that wasn't on a weekend, and honestly the business of alternating submissions to two out of three meetings sounds potentially confusing, but personally I'm willing to try whatever format works for the group.
