5th Annual Rim-to-Rim under the full moon

Details
The 5th Annual Rim-to-Rim hike in the Grand Canyon under a full moon is set for Saturday August 04, 2011--the first full moon of the month. This is a great opportunity for Rim Cubed trainers and anyone ready to tackle the Canyon at night. Trails being used are Bright Angel and North Kaibab for a 23.4 mile hilke.
I would like to set up a key-swap with a team each starting from the South and North Rim meeting in the middle if possible. Shuttle costs using the Canyon shuttle is $85 a person and I think we can avoid alot of extra costs through a key swap (if we have enough people) or a driver of our own. *please see the first comment below also.
*This is a hike designed for people who have already completed a Rim/Rim hike during the day and are experienced Canyon hikers-- this is a 'hike at your own risk' hike as I won't formally sweep trail. If you have not hiked the Canyon and are not familiar with the trails, particularly on the North, then the suggestion is to do it during the day first before attempting at night. The Canyon is beautiful at night but the corners and crevices are very dark even in the moonlight and can be dangerous for unsuspecting hikers not familiar with the trail or terrain.
If we don't use a key-swap the Canyon Shuttle leaves the South Rim at 1:30 pm arriving on the North Rim at about 7 pm. You must secure your seat before the day online at http://www.trans-canyonshuttle.com/ Since 7 pm is still light we have the option to eat at the Lodge before hiking or simply start under the dusk light to begin the crossing.
There is no trail description or 'what you need on trail' categories as this is a hike at your own risk hike and hikers on this hike should know how to prepare. I will not be sweep this trail but will stay at the trailhead until everyon is out but cap my stay at the trailhead at 9 am which is about 13 hours from a trailhead start of 8 pm since I will need to go eat and shower.
For anyone interested I am considering doing a double crossing meaning I will cross to the North on Friday night and return with everyone Saturday to the South, just let me know.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Lisa
