App Camp Day 1: Days of Microsoft Universal App Development

App Camp is a two day event focusing on developing apps for Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1. At Microsoft's recent BUILD conference, Microsoft announced exciting new tools to improve the app development experience across their platforms. Learn how to leverage these new technologies to build apps for your corporation or yourself and get hands on experience with local experts.

On day one, top local experts in the field will be presenting sessions on app development, and day two is a day full of hands on coding with a hackathon and labs.

So I think I have 3 entries for the drawing... Sameer, James, and BJ. Anyone else?

@james - I think that's great working on an app with your son! I downloaded it and gave it a nice review.

Here is a Kid Jokes app I created using App Studio with the help of my son. http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=58969445-bebb-4efc-ad45-598a9bb43cb4

Thanks Joe for the great presentation on using App Studio. It really helped with getting me started on my first app. I plan to create a lot more in the future. Thanks!

Apologies for the delay on getting information up here about the "Any new Windows Phone App or Game" drawing. To make up for my delay, the deadline will be midnight July 19, 2014. How does this work? 1. Publish a new Windows Phone app or game to the Windows Phone store (must be Windows Phone for this promo, Joe has a Windows 8 promo).
    2. Once the app is certified and in the store, post a link to it in the comments section here.
    3. There will be a drawing on July 20, with one winner of a new Windows Phone of their choice (two if we get more than 20 apps). One entry per person. You must have attended and have your name on the sign-in sheet from the event to qualify.

Anything qualifies. If you were at App Camp on day 1, you learned how you can write and publish a Windows Phone app with App Studio in a matter or minutes or hours.

If anyone wants to meet for breakfast before the Friday event, at Jimbo's or somewhere else nearby, maybe someone wants to organize this? :)

Excited about the sessions coming on Friday, we have a great lineup for you. I have updated the session list above to reflect some changes. Note that Friday will NOT have breakfast provided since the event starts at 10AM. We will provide lunch, soft drinks and water, and coffee.
