Hi, Explorers!

Here's the update for our next meeting at Sacred Grounds.

In our last episode, we played Hey, That's My Fish!, Stone Age, and a few rounds of Bang! It was a lot of fun, and we had a few people from the shop, including Catherine, Eddie, and Jason join is for our last game, Bang! It was rousing, with lots of shots fired, and the good guys with the white hats winning!

It was suggested that we might play some more pattern sorts of games, so I picked some of this week's games to satisfy some of that flavor.

Here's the list of great games for our next meeting:

Ricochet Robots: This is a very interesting game where the players are trying to direct one of our four robots into a target square. Everybody is working to figure out the solution at the same time. Sometimes the solutions are super easy, sometimes hard, but everybody gets better at the game as they play and see how the solutions work.

Pig Pile: This is a light, fun, and funny card game, with cute little pigs. It can have a bit of a bite to it, though. The players keep playing cards on to the pile in the middle, until someone either clears the deck (Hogwash!), or someone gets stuck with taking the cards. The pigs are really only in the game to support the theme, and to taunt the players who don't have as many (oh, and to keep score, too!)

Ubongo: This game features a set of polyominoes (I like saying polyomino. Polyomino. It's fun, isn't it?) for each player, and a set of different special spatial puzzles. Can you get the pieces into the space faster than the other players? No peeking! A fun and light puzzle game that you'll enjoy learning about.

Fearsome Floors: Okay, your team of people has been stuck in a dank scary dungeon, and their captor has left a door "mysteriously" open, beckoning for their escape. But, there's a wandering monster out there, plodding along, hoping to catch the escapees. The monster isn't all that bright, and you might even trick him into your "friends" teams, if you plan things right. Can get your team across the hall and out to freedom before the monster catches you? Scary stuff, kids!

There you go - feel free to post questions, suggestions or comments!

I hope you'll join us to learn some great new games!
