I'm back! And I'm very very tardy. Sorry, everybody! I thought I'd already posted this event, but something went wrong, and it simply didn't happen until now.
But there is still plenty of time for us to get together and play some great new games!
These games are all fun, are easy to learn (especially since we're experts at teaching games), and we can guarantee that if you like games, you'll enjoy playing with us!
Here's what's on our list for our next meeting:Tal der Abenteuer
: This is a great game from the good Doctor Knizia! The players have adventurers who are traveling around the map, trying to find various treasures. This game looks great, and won the Game of the Year for Austria in 2006.Dixit
: This is an interesting party-style game with very unusual pictures. Players take turns - one at a time will look at a card, make up a short story about the picture on the card, and then select the other players will select cards from their hands that most closely match the storyteller's story. This game won the Game of the Year awards for France and for Spain!Snake Lake
: This is a fast and furious game of trying to guide your snakes around, trying to eat apples and avoid the mushrooms. This is curious mix of an old computer game (you'll recognize it), and a programmed move game. This game didn't win any awards, but it look cute, and I don't want it to feel left out if I don't mention awards here, too.FITS
: This is an excellent puzzle game, and another from the incredible mind of Reiner Knizia! You'll be dropping polyominos onto your puzzle tray, trying to leave some spaces open, and other places closed, and hoping to score the most points. This is one of my personal favorite games of the last year, and yes, it was nominated for the Game of the Year award in Germany (but didn't win).
We hope you'll join us to learn and play some cool new games!
