Esthee fell in love with dance in 2003 after her first salsa class (with Pierre Gupson). She has been dancing ever since, receiving training in several dance disciplines, from tango, salsa, lambada zouk, and west coast swing, to adult ballet and contemporary dance, and attending more than 30 major dance festivals around the world.

She discovered Argentine Tango in 2006 in Shanghai, and in 2008, as she decided to follow her passion for dance full time, she made the first trip to Buenos Aires.  Since then she has been visiting Buenos Aires & Europe yearly, studying with Sebastian Arce, Mariana Montes, Gaston y Moira, Martin & Maurizio and the late Andrea Misse,

In Dec 2009, she opened a dance and fitness studio in Singapore, pursuing her dreams of providing an attractive and affordable venue to the Singapore dance community. Over the past four years, Studio UP has become one of the focal points of the Singapore dance scene, especially in Argentine Tango, offering several milongas and practicas every week, as well as a wide range of other classes and events, from Korean pop dance to yoga.

Esthee continues to broaden her understanding and experience of dance, currently taking jazz ballet and pole classes, and pursuing a Specialist Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science.

Although she does not specifically focus on stage performance aspects of dance, her notable performances include:
Finalist in World Salsa Championship ( Hong Kong 2012)
Performance in Kuala Lumpur Tango Festival 2013
West Coast Swing Group Performance under Jordan & Tatiana (Asia West Coast Swing 2013)

Her Tango LADIES TECHNIQUE CLASSES focus on fluidity of movements, maintaining integrity of one's axis and a strong focus on articulation of your feet using expressive adornos.

The exercises are inspired by teaching and styles of Esthee's favorite tango teachers such as Andrea Misse, Mariana Montes, Carolina Ventura.

Beside tango, the exercises also incorporate different somatic techniques inspired by Feldenkrais, functional movement, Pilates, and ballet.  They are designed to improve alignment and dynamic posture while also opening up the space for expressing one's understanding of music, movement, and emotions.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
