FULLY BOOKED: Weekend in Paris, With 10 French Lessons + Full Time Guide

  • January 25, 2013 · 7:00 AM

Hello Tastourians!

I've been to Paris several times, but always felt that the experience would have been better with a 'Full Time Guide' to help me with the language and culture. After 3 years of searching, I've finally found the perfect guide.  This weekend away has it all: It's a combination of sight seeing and lessons in French, Food and Wine. We will be guided from London on the Eurostar by our charming French Guide.  Our lessons will begin with role-play on the train and continue throughout the weekend whilst we eat, drink, shop and sightsee with a FUN professional language teacher.

Urgent booking note:

I'm very keen to book at this hotel as it is excellent value for the quality and location - right next to the Eiffel Tower. With most tourist spots within walking distance it means you can have some free time, without negotiating trains and buses on your own. BUT They only have a few rooms left.  It has a good deal with the Eurostar as well, which means we can keep the price low, by booking together. I need to have the names of the people travelling asap to secure the price. I know it's asking you to act on impulse, but I wondered if 4 people would be keen by Sunday?

If you can't commit now, as long as we have a few people, we will still go ahead, but if the hotel has space those booking later may have to pay an additional charge.

Please RSVP, even if you're a maybe, with your thoughts in the comments.

Cheers,

Kelly

OMG, I've always wanted to go on a trip like this! So pissed off I wasn't reading my emails for a while. Kelly, please let me know when you do another trip to Paris like this. I'll be going to Paris twice this year, but your trip sounds like a lot of fun!

Hi Kelly. I'm in Canada April 26. I'll have to let you know about May 10 as this is my last week at work and I don't have a job lined up yet. Don't know if the new company will be ok with letting me take a day off so soon after coming back from Canada. I'm going to Paris in July when my parents come over to visit, so I'll be off for another 1.5 weeks. BTW, the trip looked like a lot of fun, but I'm definitely more of a warm weather traveller to Paris. Talk to you later!

A note on Bags from EuroStar:

a maximum of 2 bags (each one needs to be smaller than 85cm at its longest length) and a small item of hand luggage.

Don't forget, with Eurostar there's no need to check in your bags. And, as long as you can carry your own baggage on board, there are no weight restrictions.

Note from Kelly: You may need to carry your bags on the public transport system in Paris (or should we just cab it?) Please keep this in mind when packing.

Hi, thanks so much to those that have already booked. This thread is for me to keep track of room request. And for you to request a room mate if you see someone on here you know. I'm fairly good at matching personalities (I'm secretly a matchmaker - for friendships too!) So don't worry about making a request, I can sort it out for you.
